FAQ
Tax questions, answered
Who do you prepare tax returns for?
Individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts and superannuation funds — from a single salary-and-deductions return through to multi-entity business groups. We prepare and lodge everything as registered tax agents (agent number 58155000).
When are tax returns due if I use a tax agent?
Lodging through a registered tax agent generally gives you extended deadlines — many individual returns fall due as late as 15 May the following year rather than 31 October, depending on your lodgement history. Join our lodgement program before 31 October to access the extensions.
Can you help with capital gains tax on a property sale?
Yes. CGT on property is one of the most common — and most expensive — places to get tax wrong. Timing, the main residence exemption, the 50% discount, cost-base records and (for rentals) depreciation adjustments all move the outcome. Talk to us before you sign a contract, not after settlement.
Do you handle BAS and GST?
Yes — GST registration, preparation and lodgement of business activity statements, PAYG instalments and fringe benefits tax, including salary sacrificing advice. If bookkeeping is current in Xero, BAS time stops being an event.
What is tax planning and when should it happen?
Tax planning is reviewing your position before 30 June while there is still time to act — timing income and deductions, superannuation contributions, trust distributions, asset purchases. We run planning reviews in April and May each year for business and investor clients.
